Single superphosphate(TSP)
Single superphosphate (SSP) offers readily available phosphorus (P) for plant growth at an attractive price. Its 18-20% P content makes it a budget-friendly option for early plant development, especially in P-deficient soils. However, SSP also contains calcium sulfate (gypsum) that can slightly acidify soil over time. Regular testing is recommended to monitor pH. Despite this, SSP remains popular for its affordability and effectiveness in addressing phosphorus needs.
